Description

New South Tractor is looking for a motivated Service Writer to complement our quickly growing operation. Candidates will enjoy a laid-back yet fast-paced work environment while delivering a positive customer experience. Background with tractor, turf or light construction equipment is ideal but not required.
Starting pay will be based on experience, but there is room for growth. We offer health, vision, and disability benefits along with a week’s paid vacation after one year of employment. Hours are Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. Mid-March to Mid-September, 8am-noon on Saturday, if needed. If you feel like you might be a good fit for our team, please see further details below.

Responsibilities
  • Service-related data entry into our Windows-based business system, primarily in the form of creating & maintaining new work orders and taking customer payments.
  • Be comfortable executing tasks using Microsoft 365 including: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Take customer calls for service-related items, such as arranging new service, service status updates, opportunities to upsell service/parts (needed items only), etc.
  • Use manufacturer supported applications and dealer portals to run serial numbers to determine warranty eligibility and available campaigns.
  • Monitor the telematics dashboard and call customers when it’s time to service or when they have a fault code.
  • Follow service bulletins from manufacturers and keep us current on campaigns.
  • Assist with receiving new service customers dropping off or picking up equipment.
  • Add new entries into Microsoft Teams Planner, apply appropriate labels, adjust entries in correlation to shop status, and close out entries when work order is completed.
  • Assist technicians with pulling parts for service jobs so they can stay clocked in on work orders.
  • Assist with scheduling pickup & delivery for service jobs and delivery of new equipment.
  • Complete transfer of servicing dealer credentials with manufacturers
  • Any other service-related duties that contribute to efficient performance of the service department.
