Description A lot has changed since 1974, when Don Schneider and Paul Swentzel opened their first retail tire store in Lexington, KY. Today, S&S Tire is a third-generation family-owned business and one of the country’s most successful regional independent tire distributors. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating repair orders, scheduling work, communicating with customers and technicians, managing parts, and ensuring accurate billing and documentation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys keeping operations running smoothly from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Create and manage work orders, estimates, and invoices. Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, costs, and updates. Schedule and coordinate mechanical work and alignments. Order and receive parts; verify accuracy and manage inventory. Operate third-party billing systems (Auto Integrate, Enterprise, Fleetio, etc.). Support technicians by providing job details, timelines, and parts status. Ensure all repairs, documentation, and billing meet company standards. Requirements Qualifications: Experience as a service writer, dispatcher, or in automotive/truck service. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Proficiency with repair order software and third-party billing systems. Knowledge of parts and labor operations preferred.
