Description
We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer with hands-on experience in ServiceNow development to join our team supporting the Vendor Performance Management (VPM) initiatives within the Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT), IT Acquisitions (ITA) division. This role plays a key part in enhancing acquisition oversight and vendor accountability through tailored software solutions built on the ServiceNow platform and integrated full stack technologies. This role is hybrid and reports onsite in Washington, DC as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 9 years or more experience; MS and 7 years or more experience; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 3-5 years of full stack development experience, specifically with CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Jelly, with relational databases.
  • Exposure and knowledge of ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, deliverables, and controls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in ServiceNow Modules such as Performance Analytics, Platform Analytics, as well as with App Engine and Scoped Apps.
  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow development, including scripting, workflow automation, and ServiceNow Studio.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, and server-side languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of people at all levels
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition or vendor management processes a strong plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with Salesforce, Power BI, or other enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) or experience working with VPM-type programs.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
    Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement robust full stack solutions to support the VPM program’s requirements.
  • Customize and extend ServiceNow modules (such as Performance Analytics, Vendor Management, or ITSM) to meet specific VPM workflows.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with other DoS enterprise systems and data sources for real-time reporting and process automation.
  • Collaborate with acquisition officers, performance managers, and ITA leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Build reusable code libraries and APIs for use across the ITA digital acquisition ecosystem.
  • Develop front-end user interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) and ensure seamless user experience.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security, privacy, and accessibility requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, Section 508).
  • Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Document technical design, configuration, and operational procedures.
