The Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking to hire a Servicer in the Dayton, OH area.
For over seven decades investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot).
Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Servicer, you will be required to perform various types of distribution service calls. Typical tasks include:
- Safely work on or near energized lines and equipment below 600 volts
- Repair, replace, clip, splice, and sag damaged secondary conductors
- Repair or replace pole mounted hardware; bolts, screws, fasteners, mounting brackets, etc.
- Repair permanently or temporary single phase Overhead Transformers.
- Recognize the difference between Underground Transformers; Live Front & Dead Front
- Refuse cutouts
- Making connections; compression connectors, bolted connectors, powder actuated connectors, wedge connectors.
- Energizing and de-energizing lines and equipment
- Installation and disconnection of electric meters
- Perform diagnostic readings on lines and equipment; voltage readings, amperage reading, test for de-energized/energized
- Protective grounding and tagging of circuits and equipment
- Install or remove protective cover devices on secondary (below 600v) conductors
- Diagnose line trouble; all out, partial power, dim lights, flickering lights, etc
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ Years of experience recommended, including 3-phase commercial and/or industrial electric service and wiring
- Valid Class A CDL and medical card required
- Ability to climb and work from poles and structures as well as operate and work from a bucket truck
- Ability to determine nominal voltages and distinguish energized parts from non-energized parts
- Familiarity with minimum approach distance
- Own your own hand tools
- Proficiency with electrical systems below 600 volts
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
