We Go Beyond for A Safer World Te Tūranga – The Role: Service Architect We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Service Architect to join our team at Tait Communications. In this pivotal role, you will act as a direct contributor to the design, development, and implementation of new or enhanced commercial services, ensuring our business systems, service workflows, and customer experience, align seamlessly with Tait's strategic and operational goals. Operating across the full development lifecycle, you will be involved from initial definition and planning through to design, implementation, testing, release, and continuous improvement. This is a role for someone who thrives in complexity, collaborates effectively across the organization, and ensures that end-to-end service architecture delivers exceptional technical and commercial outcomes. The duties of the role will include: Solution Specification & Analysis Capturing, analyzing, and validating requirements from all stakeholder groups. Developing scalable, user-focused architectural designs across systems, processes, and people. Ensuring the integrity of the solution architecture, including workflows, data, interfaces, access, and security. Ensuring solution costs are understood, incorporated into the design, and monitored throughout development. Solution Planning Developing and maintaining integration and verification plans with clear ownership and responsibilities. Contributing to project planning, ensuring activity, resources, schedules, and costs are reflected appropriately. Solution Implementation Monitoring implementation progress, coordinating cross-team integration, and testing activities. Reporting on execution and recommending corrective actions to ensure design and delivery goals are met. Ensuring high-quality solution documentation is delivered. Leading or contributing to end-to-end solution verification and providing evidence of solution completeness. Contributing as the Technical Authority during release activities. Service & Solution Strategy Proposing scalable and adaptable architectures to support future business needs and growth. Aligning business and technology strategies with stakeholders across the organization. Ensuring solutions comply with industry and regulatory standards. Self-Responsibilities Managing your workload effectively and communicating progress. Developing and maintaining your technical and professional skillset. Contributing proactively and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team. Ō pūkenga – About You To be successful in this role, you will bring: Required: A relevant degree-level qualification (Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline). 10+ years' experience in product or service development roles, with exposure across the full end-to-end development lifecycle. Experience working in complex service environments and contributing to technical design and implementation. Preferred: Experience in requirements gathering and analysis, including customer engagement. Background in systems architecture, systems engineering, and integration. Experience in project and implementation planning. A working understanding of SaaS (customer-facing and backend). Strong oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to collaborate with teams across cultures and time zones. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong commercial awareness and customer empathy.
