  • tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering and equivalent combination of training and experience
  • knowledge and experience in aspects of Sustainability and Engineering relating to Building Services and infrastructure assets, including hydraulic services (water, wastewater, gas, roof drainage), fire services (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, detection, occupant warning), and civil infrastructure (sewer drainage, stormwater drainage and stormwater quality), Electrical, Lighting, Lifts, AUMS, BMS and a specialisation in Mechanical services, as well as industry practices in environmentally sustainable design of building services plant, equipment and infrastructure servicing buildings
  • skills in compiling, analysing, interrogating and management of multiple data and information sources to enable problem solving, resolution and reporting
  • demonstrated skills, competence and experience in aspects of Building Services engineering, planning, design, construction, commissioning and operation and maintenance, including BCA and Australian Standard Requirement
  • skills and competence in using Energy and Water Management Systems to monitor water and gas assets and deliver measurable operational and energy efficiency improvements
  • proven expertise in the management of multiple projects/activities, with a solid understanding of the business implications of managing the engineering infrastructure for a large portfolio.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • ensure the consistent implementation of UI Design Standards across projects of all scales, from initiation to final handover, while tracking the achievement of engineering milestones for each project stage gate
  • conduct thorough inspections of building services across projects, identify defects, and oversee their timely resolution and closeout
  • plan, implement, and manage engineering and energy efficiency upgrades across the campus, in collaboration with the Engineering & Sustainability Team
  • monitor the compliance and performance of engineering plant, equipment, and infrastructure, and communicate any capacity constraints within your discipline to project teams
  • execute delegated procurement and financial tasks for engineering and sustainability initiatives, including business case development, procurement strategy, tender processes, and comprehensive financial reporting and management
  • provide expert technical and sustainability guidance to project teams and contractors—covering design specifications, engineering reviews, inspections, commissioning, and project handover—to ensure incorporation of energy-efficient technologies
  • support the Property & Development Team by reviewing asset data and maintenance records to prioritise work, enhance asset performance, and contribute technical engineering advice on development proposals, budgets, and site constraints
