Where Cloud lives and AI thrives. Job Description As a Services Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of hyperscale data centre infrastructure. You’ll ensure all critical systems are maintained to Uptime Institute Operational Sustainability Gold standards, while delivering reliable, high-quality support to both internal teams and customers. What will you do: Operate, monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure to meet uptime commitments Coordinate and manage contractors to ensure maintenance aligns with best-practice and UTI standards Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues to minimise downtime Perform routine testing, preventative maintenance, and system optimisation Participate in a rotating on-call roster to support 24/7 operations Work closely with Customer Success and senior technicians to deliver seamless service Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Facility Rules, and company policies Escalate incidents in line with established procedures Support the achievement and maintenance of data centre certifications Maintain accurate documentation (SWIs, EOPs, as-built drawings, etc.) Assist with customer equipment handling, installation, and setup Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and operational readiness drills What will you need: Foundational knowledge of data centre infrastructure (electrical, mechanical, cooling, fire systems) Understanding of rack installation, design, and cable management Familiarity with relevant standards and regulatory requirements Experience with building management/monitoring systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills Clear communication and ability to collaborate across teams Qualifications 2+ years in data centre facilities, building services, or similar environment NV1 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain) – essential Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC), or Telecommunications – preferred Diploma (or equivalent) in engineering or a related technical field – desirable Additional Information Opportunity to be a vital part of NEXTDC Inclusive, diverse and values-driven working culture Great opportunities to progress within our company (grow as we grow) Our mission is to continue building a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents the communities in which we operate.
