Sessional Lecturer, English 110.6 (87) ITEP The Department of English invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach the following course during the following session: 2026-2027 Regular Session Course Number, Section, and Name: ENG 110.6 (87) Literature and Composition Term and Course Dates: Term One (September to December) and Term Two (January – April) CRN: 80877 20665 Delivery Mode: This course will be offered as a Lecture Course Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday 10:00 am – 11:20 pm; Tutorial: Tuesday 1:00 pm – 2:20 pm Expected Enrollment Limit: 40 Location: Saskatoon Qualifications: Minimum of an M.A. degree in English with teaching experience; a Ph.D. degree is preferred. This course section is part of the Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) which is a four-year education program designed for First Nations students interested in obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree. The main purpose and goal of ITEP is to prepare First Nations teachers who will be able to respond to the challenges associated with the ever-changing educational needs and objectives of students in our school systems. The additional qualifications required for this ITEP section include the following: Knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit culture as well as the socio-economic and pedagogical factors associated with teaching this body of students. Familiarity with Indigenous perspectives and research methodologies as they connect to their disciplines, and to the development of skills for student success in those disciplines. Familiarity with Indigenous pedagogies and student and community priorities Experience teaching using methods that promote collaborative and peer-to-peer learning in small student cohorts. Experience teaching to mature student cohorts and students with nonstandard K-12 preparation in relevant disciplines. Knowledge of factors affecting educational legacies in Saskatchewan's Indigenous communities Intercultural competence and commitment to pedagogic praxis (reflection & reflexive adaptation of teaching) This position may be filled as per Article 16.08 of the CUPE 3287 Collective Bargaining Agreement. A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days in recognition of preparation and marking time required. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment. Responsibilities

The lecturer will teach the ENG 110.6 Literature and Composition course for the Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) across two terms. Responsibilities include delivering lectures and tutorials to First Nations students to prepare them for Bachelor of Education degrees.
