COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In the context of Medical Radiation Sciences (MRS), Health Improvement Initiatives focuses on the intersection of three principal domains of healthcare: system, leadership, quality. This course will explore the organization and structure of the Canadian healthcare system to better understand and appreciate the roles and accountabilities of those who use and those who function within it. It will also examine MRS healthcare leadership at all levels and the development of collaborative leadership and project management skills for the adaptable MRS healthcare practitioner needed for today’s dynamic healthcare environment, including understanding quality improvement initiatives aimed to make healthcare more effective, efficient, and safe.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MSc Advanced Practice (Radiotherapy and Oncology) or a MSc with specialization or competency in the subject matter of the course and Medical Radiation Sciences. Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in medical imaging and/or radiation therapy practice setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching and curriculum development the undergraduate or graduate-level.
Description of Duties:
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a University credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; out-of-class interactions with students via e-mail and office hours; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; ordering of all necessary readings; supervision of TAs (if any) assigned to the course.
