Responsibilities

Islington Assembly Hall (IAH) is a venue managed by Islington Council. For over 10 years, IAH has been operating as a live music venue in the heart of the borough bringing the community huge names including Skepta, Ed Sheeran, Jack White, and Ezra Collective to name a few.
As Sessional Venue Staff, you will be joining our bars, cloakroom and box office team. We have 150 live music events per year as well as corporate events & weddings. Some experience working within a live music venue would be beneficial.
Please note, the responsibilities in the job description cover all available roles as Sessional Venue Staff. You would not be expected to take on all the roles. You can let us know which roles you are interested in in your application or at interview stage. We are looking for someone that has the drive to progress in this role, with opportunities to become Bar Supervisors and Senior Bar Supervisors.

You will:

We will:

  • Pay a minimum of London Living wage (£13.85)
  • Be busy in March, April, May, June, Oct, Nov, Dec. You will be available for approximately 10-20 six-hour shifts per month
  • Usually open between 7-11pm for gigs; the usual work pattern for bars is 6pm-12 midnight and box office is 6pm-10pm
  • Be quiet in Jan, Feb, July and August where there will be approximately 3-10 six-hour shifts per month
  • Pay wages monthly, first wage will be received in your second month of work.

The post holder will be required to work late nights, weekend and some early mornings.

Starting work with us…
You will not be able to start work until all references have been returned and checked, and your pre-employment/right to work checks have taken place.
With our new recruitment system, you will be able to enter in and contact your referees during the offer process, so make sure that your referees are prepared and expect to hear from us. This is very important as it will speed up the whole process. Once referees are contacted, they will need to reply to us within two working days.
Our aim is to go from interview to start date within 14 days, depending on response from your referees.
