OCU Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join us! Your role will involve contributing to the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of various civil engineering projects with a primary focus on water infrastructure. You will work closely with experienced professionals to develop your technical skills and gain practical experience in the field of water engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a specialization in water resources engineering or water management.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, including CAD, hydraulic modelling software, and GIS applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop water infrastructure project plans and designs.
  • Assist in conducting site investigations and surveys to gather essential data for project assessments.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to create detailed drawings and blueprints.
  • Participate in the preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and modelling to ensure the efficient functioning of water systems.
  • Support construction activities by monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and regulations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams and contractors to resolve technical challenges.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure the implementation of engineering plans and standards.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines during all phases of project execution.
  • Assist in maintaining communication with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings to provide updates on progress and resolve queries.
