Description
As the Settlement Associate, you'll be responsible for executing operational processes around how we settle payouts to merchants. You will manage the daily reconciliation of settlements, and escalations to banking partners, liquidity providers, payment processors, and more for any risk-related issues. You will obsess over business metrics around user accounts, deposit values, and trades. You will obsess over the improvement of overall user experience, prioritizing the unreconciled items for assigned accounts, and analyzing and recording all appropriate debit and credit adjustments. What you will be doing: Perform daily reconciliation of accounts for exceptions and escalation of exceptions to the switch and relevant parties for resolution on Bamboo Retail across Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa. Facilitate and monitor deposits on Misan by Bamboo, ensuring timely and accurate processing in line with company policies and procedures. Conduct thorough reconciliation processes for transactions across Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, addressing currency conversion complexities. Maintain detailed records and provide reports on transactional activities across these countries, ensuring compliance with international financial regulations and standards. Utilize internal and external settlement systems and data to prepare and complete balancing schedules and cash account reconciliations. Monitors and processes payments and payment files with settlement procedures and policies. Regular consolidation of account balances across all product lines. Analyzes and researches variances; provides logical/concise explanations for variances and fluctuations promptly and assists with variance resolution as needed Performs daily and weekly revenue recognition and cost optimization exercises Liaises with partners (banks and processors) to ensure optimal cost structures and verify daily settlements. Work with the Compliance team to design and maintain a process for reporting fraudulent activity to the appropriate regulatory authorities. Coordinate with internal teams to develop risk mitigation strategies for payment processing and merchant management. Protect business interests and financial position by identifying loopholes within the system and working with relevant teams for prompt resolution. Oversee the work of a Settlement and Reconciliation Analyst, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Ensure that the Settlement analyst effectively contributes to the reconciliation processes and adheres to company policies and standards. Execute chargebacks and dispute resolutions of transactions. About you: A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent At least 3-4 years reconciliation and settlement experience in digital financial services or the banking industry Proficiency in the use of Ms excel and data analysis Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
