Our client is a distinguished law firm based in the United States, dedicated to providing exceptional legal services. They seek a proactive and organized Settlement & Liens Coordinator to support their leadership team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing executive-level tasks efficiently and professionally.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Legal Settlement Coordinator.
  • Experience in personal injury law is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients, lien holders, and finance teams.
  • Experience with CloudLex or other legal case management software is a plus.
  • Ability to negotiate liens and work efficiently under deadlines.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly organized Settlement & Liens Coordinator to manage post-settlement administrative tasks and ensure a seamless case closure process. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle lien negotiations and settlement disbursements efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and send settlement releases to clients for signature, draft stipulations of discontinuance, and submit closing documents to insurance companies and defense law firms.
  • Identify and verify liens from medical providers, case funding companies, and government entities (Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, HMS, CMS, HRA).
  • Review case expenses to ensure accuracy and disbursement eligibility.
  • Contact lien holders to request final amounts and negotiate reductions, sending requests to funding companies, medical providers, and government agencies.
  • Prepare and submit the OCA closing statement to the court.
  • Draft a client closing statement detailing the settlement breakdown, attorney fees, costs, and liens.
  • Ensure accuracy in settlement disbursement calculations before submitting to the finance department.
  • Track settlement checks and confirm breakdowns before final disbursement.
  • Follow up with insurance companies to track the issuance and delivery of settlement checks.
  • Coordinate with clients to obtain banking information for wire transfers.Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of settlement funds.
