Job Overview The Settlement Officer is responsible for managing the end-to-end loan settlement process across a high volume of transactions. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, the ability to thrive under pressure, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The role ensures a smooth and professional experience for clients, lenders, and brokers by driving settlements through to completion with speed, accuracy, and consistency. Duties and Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the loan settlement process from formal approval through to disbursement. Coordinate with lenders, solicitors, conveyancers, and clients to ensure all settlement conditions are met. Monitor pipeline to prioritise urgent and time-sensitive matters, ensuring all settlement deadlines are achieved. Accurately prepare and review loan documentation, ensuring compliance with lender and regulatory requirements. Liaise with brokers and internal teams to resolve issues quickly and minimise delays. Manage multiple files concurrently in a high-volume environment, maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Provide proactive updates to clients and brokers to ensure all parties are informed and confident throughout the process. Identify and escalate risks or barriers to timely settlement. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on process gaps or bottlenecks. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in lending support, credit, or mortgage operations within the Australian market. Previous experience in loan settlements, banking operations, or mortgage administration (essential). Strong knowledge of lender requirements, loan documentation, and the settlement process. Ability to manage a large caseload while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise with clients, brokers, and third parties under pressure. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to resolving issues. High attention to detail and organisational skills. Proficiency with lender portals, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite Personal Attributes Thrives in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
