Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a detail oriented Settlements & Variations Officer to join our Settlements & Variations team. This role is responsible for providing ongoing support to members, branches and third parties throughout the entire loan process, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from application through to settlement.
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing loan documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy. This includes the preparation of loan contracts, discharge payout figures, account closures, break fee quotes, and legal documentation such as borrower consents or title production. You will also be expected to follow up on missing information in a timely and efficient manner.
A key part of your role involves processing construction loan drawdowns and payments, managing switch and variation requests, and handling inquiries related to DVA/DHOAS. You will ensure that all required documentation is received and processed in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
In terms of settlements, you will coordinate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including panel solicitors, brokers, government bodies, builders and contractors, to ensure timely and accurate settlements. You will prepare and issue post-settlement notifications to members, instruct panel solicitors for newly approved mortgages, and manage all incoming requests via the Settlements & Variations Group mailbox within agreed timeframes. Additionally, you will be responsible for executing First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) applications and performing general ledger reconciliations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. Previous experience in loan processing, settlements, or a financial services environment will be highly regarded, particularly familiarity with DVA/DHOAS processes and mortgage process such as post credit approval and pre-settlements.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a team dedicated to delivering a positive and professional experience for our members across every stage of their loan journey.
