About Us
Sechelt is a charming seaside community of approximately ten thousand people, and we are grateful to live, work and play on the traditional and unceded territory of the shíshálh Nation. Known for our beautiful beaches, hiking, biking trails and outdoor recreation, Sechelt embodies the laid-back spirit of the west coast lifestyle. Just a scenic 40-minute ferry ride away from the Lower Mainland, Sechelt offers the perfect blend of quaint small-town feel with easy accessibility to the draws of the city.
In 2015, the District of Sechelt commissioned one of the most innovative and advanced LEED certified wastewater treatment plants in Canada – our Water Resource Centre. This is a state of the art, tertiary level, membrane filtration, wastewater treatment plant rated as a Class IV facility.
Our team at the Water Resource Centre is known for its collaborative spirit and commitment to developing our operators in the field of wastewater treatment. Employees consistently cite our supportive work environment and opportunities for growth as key reasons they love working here. We’re committed to supporting professional development through ongoing training and assistance in achieving higher levels of certification. As operators achieve higher certification levels, they are automatically advanced to the corresponding wage grid—empowering career growth without needing to wait for internal vacancies. This approach ensures your skills and dedication are recognized and rewarded in real time.
