Sewing machinist will be factory based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. You will be working for an innovative design and manufacturing company, producing bespoke design and build projects predominantly for the UK soft play market.
You will form an integral part of the production team, working closely with all internal departments, to deliver the required vinyl skins and features for our softplay equipment and other manufactured items.
Your responsibilities will include sewing of all required parts and features, predominantly using a commercial grade vinyl material. You will mainly be using a single-needle, automatic, walking foot Juki machine but will also be required to use a manual Juki machine, as well as a twin needle Juki machine at certain times.
In the most part all fabric cutting is done on our CNC machine but a small amount of manual cutting maybe required from time to time.
You will also be tasked with marking and eyeletting of certain shapes and features and this too is handled with an automated, pnuematic eylet machine.
This represents a great opportunity for an experienced Sewing Machinist to work in a small and caring environment, with a certain amount of flexibility in the days and hours worked to conincide with and around any existing schedules.

Prior softplay experience is not required (but useful), but good sewing skills and a positive, can-do attitude is a must.
“On the job” training will be given to the successful candidate, to bring them up to speed on all the products and features required to be sewn together. A sewing manual is available for specific product ‘assembly’ instructions.
