POSITION DESCRIPTION

Sexual Risk Avoidance Educator- Training Assistant

B. IN-SCHOOL EDUCATION:

  • Expertly and effectively present NGYE programs to high school and middle school students.
  • Be present and punctual for all scheduled presentations.
  • Be prepared for every presentation adhering to content delivery and effective performance guidelines.
  • Be available for classroom scheduling for up to 8 of the following hours: 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday–Friday.
  • Be responsible for all program materials and maintaining supplies in presentation kits.
  • Conduct pre- and post-surveys with students as directed.
  • Maintain excellent relations with school personnel.
  • Obtain attendance sheets and other paperwork required for reporting purposes.
  • Provide feedback/recommendations on program improvement to S/T/E.
  • Co-Present with other SRA Educators as needed

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Willingness to support Elizabeth’s New Life Center’s mission and vision as well as promote healthy marriage as defined by Elizabeth’s New Life Center.
  • Training experience with a diversified work force.
  • Leadership, management, and excellent speaking skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in education geared toward teens.
  • Experience in program presentations/public speaking a plus.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds and carry equipment and materials to and from class
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • A servant’s attitude with the ability to understand how all tasks impact the agency.
  • Ability to respect the dictates of the funding source for this position, which prevents using funds for inherently religious activities.
  • Pass the ASCEND Sexual Risk Avoidance Specialist certification once hired
Responsibilities

I. ROLE

The role of the SRA-E/TA is to assist in training educators to present NGYE curricula to high school and middle school students. The SRA-E/TA will also travel to and provide presentations within our service area.

D. OTHER ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and comply with program provisions, goals and grant requirements.
  • Fulfill speaking requests for NGYE program promotion when requested.
  • Attend departmental meetings and trainings, complete continuing education and additional training opportunities.
  • Participate in Elizabeth’s New Life Center (ENLC) community outreach networking events and fundraising that directly impact the recognition of and the success of in school programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the S/T/E or DYE.
