What's the role? The Mobile Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance General Foreman, with a primary role of maintaining underground mobile and associated ancillary equipment. All maintenance activities undertaken are to be done in a timely and cost-effective manner whilst adhering to Company standards, policies and procedures. This is to minimise downtime and to ensure targeted machine reliability is achieved between planned maintenance tasks within the Operations. Duties include: * Undertake diagnostic, breakdowns, follow-up work, PM's to a high standard of execution, all work completed in a safe and timely manner. * Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and contractors. * Provide technical advice and support to fellow Maintenance Team members. * Ensures workmanship through meeting standards and tolerances and testing of equipment prior to handover. * Identify correct parts and equipment for all planned and unplanned jobs as necessary. * Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement. What are we looking for? You'll be a highly proactive individual who will display behaviour consistent to our Northern Star Values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Results, looking to work with the business for the long term and be an integral part in its future growth and development. The specifics: * 2-5 years practical experience as a mechanical tradesperson in heavy mining application. * Excellent fault-finding skill and ability to carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance. * Computer literacy Microsoft Office, Pronto or similar CMMS. * Good communication skills. * Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements. * Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check. The Details: Working a 4 week on, 2 week off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area. Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV. Cell service is available through Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska. Why join us?
