The Shaft General Foreman will report to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and provide direction to Shaft Supervision and Shaft Planner

  • Carry out duties following Nutrien safety principles and priorities

  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Company Policies and Procedures, and laws and regulations
  • Collaboratively work with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and Planning teams to develop, support, and accomplish personal, team, and site goals and targets
  • Actively promote and engage in continuous improvement of shaft and hoist processes
  • Be responsible for efficient execution of all Shaft and Hoist activities to meet the needs of the Allan site
  • Ensure the function and reliability of hoist and shaft assets
  • Actively participate in site safety programs
  • Optimizes scheduling daily downtime to complete required inspections and maintenance in the area while still achieving site production targets
  • Participates in regular shutdown coordination and extended down planning to effectively use all shutdown time taking into account corporate guidance and site production forecasting
  • Timely and effectively communicates and submits reports to regulatory agencies and senior leadership
  • Manages systems to track hoist metrics of reliability, utilization and availability
