As a Sharps Technician, you will be responsible for safely providing on-site placement, collection, and transportation of reusable sharps and medical waste containers throughout assigned healthcare facilities. You will maintain a consistent service schedule, ensure compliant handling of sharps and pharmaceutical waste, and deliver exceptional customer service to hospital staff, medical institutions, and other waste generators. Key Responsibilities Complete routine scheduled preventative maintenance across assigned facilities. Travel between and within assigned healthcare facilities to place, collect, and service reusable Sharp Medical Waste containers (Sharps, Rx, Haz, etc.). Collect and transport RCRA pharmaceutical waste to designated accumulation areas within the facility. Maintain a strict service and collection schedule to ensure timely and consistent support. Communicate duty status and service updates on a defined schedule. Build and maintain strong customer relationships by proactively resolving questions, problems, and service concerns. Review container tags and determine when size modifications or adjustments are needed. Ensure safe, compliant handling of medical waste in patient rooms and sensitive healthcare environments. Operate independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Document activities as required and follow all operational, regulatory, and facility procedures. Other duties as required. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in diverse healthcare settings. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Lift 25–40 lbs frequently (up to 2/3 of the shift) Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally (up to 1/3 of the shift) Push and pull carts weighing approximately 200–400 lbs, including through tight hospital corridors Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities. Ability to maintain sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion in patient-care environments. Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed. COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
