LEVEL OF EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
  • Preferred disciplines: Environmental, Safety, or similar technical fields.
  • Knowledge of SHE technical areas strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE IN GENERAL:

  • 3–5 years of experience in a chemical plant environment (preferred).

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of component operations within a chemical plant.
  • Ability to interpret and apply SHE laws, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use ancillary company software applications.

Responsibilities
  • Lead environmental compliance programs for air, water, and waste, including permit applications, reporting, and recordkeeping (Title V, LDAR, MACT, EPCRA, TSCA, NPDES, SWPPP, RCRA).
  • Oversee site waste management programs, sustainability projects, and ISO14001 implementation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver SHE training programs, safety initiatives, and audits to support safe work practices, contractor safety, and incident management systems.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors to define compliance requirements, evaluate projects and process changes, and ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Represent the company with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and community organizations to promote SHE initiatives and maintain positive relationships.
  • Support site emergency response planning, hazard communication, and DOT/US Coast Guard compliance activities.
