POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sheet Metal BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes specifically related to sheet metal fabrication and installation. This role aims to ensure that all sheet metal drawings and models are accurate, up-to-date, and in alignment with project specifications and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the BIM process for sheet metal projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D models using Revit, focusing on sheet metal components and systems.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate sheet metal designs into overall project models, ensuring seamless coordination with other disciplines.
  • Review and resolve conflicts within models, providing solutions that adhere to project specifications and timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of shop drawings and fabrication details for sheet metal components based on BIM models.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members on sheet metal BIM practices and software utilization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to VDC and BIM in the sheet metal sector.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a BIM Coordinator or similar role in the construction or sheet metal industry.
  • Proficiency in Revit and other BIM software tools, with a strong understanding of sheet metal design and fabrication.
  • Experience with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) practices and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
