JOB TITLE: SHEET METAL FABRICATOR/SHEAR OPERATOR

Location: Code Electric, 548 Nicola Pl – Port Coquitlam
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $26.10 to $31.46, based on experience
Shift: Afternoon shift - Mon to Thur, various times available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in metal fabrication
  • Preference will be given to those with Shearing experience
  • Proven experience as a sheet metal fabricator or similar role
  • Proficiency in operating fabrication tools and machinery
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Capable of using calipers, micrometres and other measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
  • Welding experience (preferred but not required)
  • Forklift experience and certification is required for this position
  • Competent English skills required
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and prepping sheet metal products using a variety of tools and machinery. You’ll work closely with engineers and production leads to ensure high-quality output that meets project specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery
  • Experience with saws and iron workers an asset
  • Assemble components using riveting and fastening techniques
  • Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe working environment
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines
  • Unloading material skids and sorting material types
