Description

GLO Resources is currently hiring an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to work locally within Port Allen, La. The rate of pay is based on experience between $22 to $28 per hour. The schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional overtime.
Position Summary: Within the manufacturing business, the role of the Sheet Metal Fabricator is to safely produce quality products for use by the customers. This role may require cross-training on various production machines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing work environment preferred.
  • Previous experience working with metal fabrication with various products such as pipes, elbows, tanks, etc.
  • Cut and Roll Machine experience required.
  • Must be able to use power tools and hand tools utilized for metal fabrication.
  • Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills required.
  • Able to demonstrate good eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Easily read basic drawings and perform math calculations.
  • Forklift certification is an asset but not required.

Physical Requirements:This position involves regular physical activity, including:

  • Standing for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Pushing and pulling heavy objects.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Shaping and forming on metal pipe, elbows, tanks, etc.
  • Operate roll line machinery as required, depending on departmental assignment.
  • Understand production logs and associated documentation as well as required material usage reporting.
  • Understand all functions of the machine, set-up, balancing, size changes, and fine-tuning of quality.
  • Power up/down machine.
  • Correctly document or log out daily production at the end of the shift.
  • Set up or change over the machine from a previous job to perform the requirements of a new job.
  • Minimize waste by adjusting the machine.
  • Report any quality or machine issues immediately to the supervisor.
  • Safely palletize finished product, and clean work area, machines, and equipment using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.
  • Correctly use PPE, Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, or other as required.
  • Actively participate in periodic workplace safety learning sessions.
  • Perform daily general housekeeping activities to keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Complete all work efficiently and in a timely manner as instructed by the supervisor.
  • May be assigned other duties as necessary.
