Enertech Sheet Metal Inc (ESM) is a full service sheet metal contractor carrying out work in the local commercial, industrial, institutional and high rise sectors. ESM, along with our health and safety consultant AEC Safety Solutions offer a safe and healthy work environment built around our regular jobsite inspections and continual education and training.
Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled Sheet Metal journey persons and registered apprentices to join our team for upcoming local construction projects. As a Sheet Metal journeyperson, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products according to blueprints and specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to operate various tools and equipment.
Potential for company truck, gas card and phone for future foreperson position(s).
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Fabricate sheet metal products using machinery such as lockformers, roll formers and plasma cutter.
- Assemble sheet metal components using various techniques such as welding, riveting, and soldering
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Direct cranes or other lifting equipment to move heavy materials or equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
-Journeyperson to hold valid 308A sheet metal license
-Valid drivers license and own transportation to ESM shop and local job sites
-Hold valid certification in WHMIS, working at heights, aerial work platform, health and safety awareness and first aid is preferred however will provide training as required.
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Journeyperson or registered apprentice
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation
- Familiarity with machining tools such as plasma cutters and CNC machines
- Excellent mechanical skills with the ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
