Job Description Contract: Contract to Hire Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements Perform final assembly on experimental equipment and tire build-up for flight test designated aircraft Modify flight test aircraft components per engineering requirements Assist in working with production to build or assemble first and any designated aircraft and experimental/production equipment Perform minor fabrication and modification of production aircraft parts in accordance with developmental and/or engineering specifications Fabricate and modify experimental aircraft parts in accordance with experimental engineering specifications Maintain records of changes, inspections and control tire history in tire shop and fabrication shop Assist engineering with revising functional test procedures as required Set-up fixtures to perform static tests, fatigue tests, pressure tests, bird strikes, and assemble aircraft sections for testing as required Prepare aircraft test components and systems for testing Perform nondestructive/destructive testing, including but not limited to, cycle tests and ultimate load tests Assist with aircraft mock-up in accordance with various flight test configurations May perform aircraft testing at offsite locations in support of other divisions and customers needs Inspect, maintain, and/or repair ground support equipment as required Assist with installation of experimental parts on various aircraft as required Order parts and materials required for mock-up, assembly and installations per experimental engineering drawings Qualifications Basic knowledge of aircraft systems Working knowledge of blueprints Working knowledge in fabrication of sheet metal and/or composite components and assemblies, aircraft parts and ground support equipment per engineering drawings, sketches, advance designs, specifications and/or verbal instructions Working knowledge of reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals Working knowledge of Test Preparation Systems Working knowledge of manuals necessary to perform job, for example, Aircraft Maintenance manuals, Manufacturing manuals, equipment manuals, parts catalog and applicable FAA documents Working knowledge of flight-line ground safety procedures Skills necessary to perform flat pattern lay outs Skills necessary to use basic hand tools necessary to perform job Skills necessary to measure using a variety of basic and physical measuring devices Skills necessary to fabricate and/or assemble various detail parts and components Skills necessary to apply sealing compounds Skills necessary to troubleshoot aircraft test systems and repair aircraft test equipment discrepancies Mechanical ability to use basic hand tools, including but not limited to, rivet gun, drill press, surface grinder, belt sander, sheet metal roller and 90/45 degree drills Mechanical ability to use powered shop equipment tools, including but not limited to, shear, band saw and brake Ability to obtain and renew certifications, including but not limited to, Broderson Crane Certification, Power Lift Certification, Fork Lift Certification, Bonding Certification and Sealing Certification Advanced sheet metal skills Advanced composite skills Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments Additional Information Here’s a heads-up of the upcoming steps: Phone Interview with Recruiter: We’ll begin with an introductory call to discuss your background and interest in the role.
