This is an exciting opportunity for on-the-job training that can start you on an exciting career path in aviation manufacturing! Hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.67/hour. As a Daher employee you will participate in our comprehensive 6-week training program, with in class and hands on training, be assigned a mentor, and upon successful completion, earn your Level One Sheet Metal Mechanic rank. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain, modify, and install aircraft sheet metal and composite components. • Fabricate and rework complex structural assemblies. • Use precision measuring devices to ensure quality standards. • Perform inspections and maintain accurate work records. • Work from engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Basic Skills and Requirements: • Mechanical experience including drills, pneumatic tools, and hand tools, must be able to demonstrate comfort level and competency using them. • High School Diploma or GED. • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. • Ability to work 1st and/or 2nd shift upon completion of class. Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. • Frequent use of hands for various tasks. • Standing, walking, reaching, and stooping regularly. • Maintain steady hand-eye coordination. • Ability to reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions. • Effective communication skills and ability to hear.
