SHEET METAL PREP OPERATIVE – RAF-4033 – STELLEX MANUFACTURING LTD

Stellex Manufacturing Ltd based in Batley are looking for a Sheet Metal Prep Operative.
We offer an extensive range of products for use in the catering industry, from the simplest of tables for food preparation through to bespoke servery counters.
Throughout the Company’s trading history, we have earned a reputation within the catering fabrication and distributor markets for providing high quality solutions and services to all its end users. We are now expanding into the Pharmaceutical and veterinary markets.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager. This role is responsible for operating the Sheet Metal Guillotine and Notcher, assisting the manufacturing operation of bespoke products including Stainless Steel and other metals, ranging from counters, fabrications and displays. You will be required to cut and measure and fold sheet metal to the correct size in line with business needs and requirements. Other duties involved in this role are as follows:
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Carry out necessary checks and quality assurance of products as per specifications
Use hand and pneumatic tools to carry out daily tasks.
Ensure all equipment used is safe, clean and is in good working order, reporting any faults to your Line Manager.
Carry out general labouring duties which may include removing laser film and other packaging materials, deburring, finishing and cutting of box section
Ensure areas are kept clean and tidy and Health and Safety procedures and policies are adhered to at all times.
Assist with any other duties as required and within the skill set of this role.

Responsibilities

Experience of working on a shop floor environment.
Possess a basic working knowledge of using guillotine machines is a distinct advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
Have the ability to multi-task and be flexible.
Be able to use your own initiative to solve problems.
Possess a ‘can do’ attitude, with the ability to pay attention to detail in all tasks required.
Possession of a forklift licence is a distinct advantage.
