Description Position Summary: Work includes all types of sheet metal/HVAC. May run sheet metal jobs as a Superintendent. Individuals should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other people on the project, including our subcontractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner. Should be able to accept directions and/or lead and delegate the work if necessary. Focus on safety and safety practices first and foremost at all task inceptions. Responsibilities and Duties: • Coordinate, install and/or repair sheet metal and/or duct systems. • Assists with the assembly and installation of HVAC equipment as necessary. • Install hangars or supports for HVAC systems. • • Perform field fabrication of sheet metal and/or duct systems and set up the specific task or project schedule. • Make adjustments to work sequences to meet construction schedules, using own knowledge of equipment and lower-level personnel capacities. • Manage materials to ensure timely completion of the work scheduled. Ensure optimal material consumption. • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to contract and specification. • Reads blueprints and interprets specifications. • Correct punch-list items and make distribution as required. • Attend, as required, all jobsite and office meetings related to assigned projects. • Keeps equipment in good working order and insures proper and timely maintenance is performed on equipment. • Ensure the needs of general contractors, owners, and other customers as well as entrusted employees are met. • Keep the superintendent or project manager aware of all issues affecting production and schedule. • Serve as a coach and mentor to lower echelon to help them develop and improve their skills and increase their technical knowledge. • Strengthen skills to encourage improvement in other sheet metal workers. Emphasize commitment to continually improve company procedures and processes int eh be interests of the company. • Organizes work and utilizes preplanning such as the four week look ahead schedule. • All other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications and Experience: • Experience/Qualifications Required: o 5 years commercial experience of sheet metal/HVAC in field operations. o Prior shop experience a plus. o Stable work history. • Job Skills: o Ability to read blueprints. o Knowledge of sheet metal/HVAC installation. o Ability to fabricate offsets. o Working knowledge of all hand and power tools. o Able to do take-offs. o Able to install equipment. o Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity. o Good math skills. • Education: o High School or GED equivalent. o Journeyman license a plus. o Trade School a plus. o Willing to obtain additional trade licenses and/or certifications. • Physical Requirements: o Eyesight correctable to 20/50. o Able to work long hours on feet. o Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds. o Able to perform shift work. o Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs. o Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions. o Must not be afraid of heights. • Special Requirements: o Valid Driver’s License. o Must provide own basic hand tools. o OSHA 10 certificate
