We’re looking for Sheet Metal Workers / Fabricators who want to join a growing business with big ambitions
Salary: £17.00 per hour up to £25.50 Over time rate
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm
Location: Washington, Tyne and Wear
Overtime and weekend work available as and when Required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Time Served semi skilled fabricators
  • Competent in Welding Processes MIG & MMA
  • Valid CSCS card and relevant FISS/CIS certificates beneficial
  • Competent in the use of all metalworking machinery for steel fabrications
  • Highly motivated with great estimating/planning abilities
  • Good working knowledge of relevant fabrication techniques and welding methods
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Adherence to operational processes, health and safety guidelines, and quality standards
  • Current driving licence for potential on-site requirements
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Your primary duties will include the fabrication and welding of bespoke and industrial fabrications, working with Carbon Steels, Aluminium, and stainless steel where required.
· You will be using MIG / TIG welding
· We work with a variety of materials, such as: mild steel, aluminium and stainless
· You will read drawings and use your initiative to fabricate the products.
· We are a fast-paced environment, and we don’t micromanage. Our staff work independently on a wide range of different jobs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fabrication/welding of industrial structures
  • Competent in MIG & MMA processes
  • Cutting, bending, and welding of products
  • Finishing and quality inspection
  • Ensure workshop Health & Safety Regulations are adhered to
  • Maintain workshop and workstation cleanliness
  • Complete Quality Control and Test Inspection documents for projects on time
  • Follow good practices for material sustainability (Reuse/Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs
  • Ensure installed services and equipment comply with contract documentation
  • Record and report defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards
  • Determine and assess the need for additional staff and resources
  • Report changes in project scope, identify project risks, and assist in devising contingency plans
  • Adhere to best practices and tools for project execution and management
