Make a Difference: Join the Quincy Salvation Army Emergency Shelter Team! Are you a compassionate individual who wants to make a real impact in your community? The Quincy Salvation Army Emergency Shelter is seeking dedicated Shelter Monitors to help provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. No prior social work experience? No problem! If you bring empathy, kindness, and a genuine desire to help, we’ll provide the training you need to succeed. Position Details * Pay Rate: $17.00/hour, with an additional $1.00/hour for overnight shifts. * Shifts: Flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Status: Full-time, 40hours/week. Responsibilities: * Monitor the shelter premises to ensure safety and security for all clients and staff. * Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment while upholding shelter rules and policies. * Complete intake forms for new clients and update client files as needed. * Assist clients with access to basic needs like food, linens, and/or hygiene products. * Respond to client concerns, providing emotional support and referrals for services as appropriate. * Report any incidents, safety concerns, or facility maintenance needs to management. * Maintain shelter journals, logs, and other records including incident reports and referrals. * Answer phone calls, take messages, and relay information to appropriate staff members. * Assist in light custodial tasks including cleaning common areas, restocking supplies, and maintaining the shelter's cleanliness. * Prepare and serve meals to clients as required. * Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed and improve service delivery. It is the goal of our program to equip our residents with the knowledge and life skills development needed to find employment and suitable, affordable housing that they might become self-sufficient individuals.    The Emergency Shelter can accommodate up to 20 people with rooms dedicated to single men and women as well as families.
