If you like variety in your day, you’re handy with tools and you’re someone who can turn your hand to most things on the farm, including working with the stock, then this role on Mangatoa’s dairy/heifer finishing station could be perfect for you. In this team, you’ll have the guidance of a supportive Farm Manager and Stock Manager to help you with your career development goals and provide you with a variety of responsibilities to build your skills and knowledge. You will take on day-to-day responsibilities of stock and general work (mainly general work), as well as supporting other team members to get the work done. ABOUT US Pāmu Landcorp Farming Limited is a State-Owned Enterprise with over 110 farms across New Zealand. Our purpose is to lead the delivery of innovative and sustainable agriculture solutions for future generations. THE FARM Mangatoa is one of Pāmu’s top performing properties which is 4,234 effective ha, farming a diverse mix of enterprises which carries 6500 ewes, 2000 hoggets and 500 calving cows. Mangatoa also grows 200 bulls for the dairy industry and winters 3,500 cattle and finishes up to 2000 heifers. Mangatoa Farm is located west of Kaikohe. Ten minutes’ drive to town with the school bus at the gate. ABOUT YOU You’re passionate about farming, love working with livestock, and want to be part of a team that works hard and gets results. Responsibilities
The Shepherd General will take on day-to-day responsibilities involving stock and general farm work, primarily focusing on general tasks, while also supporting other team members to complete necessary work. This role offers significant scope for self-management of the daily schedule on a large-scale farm.
