KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS
Accountabilities
Outputs (results required)
Support General Manager in the review and approval of the business SHE strategy with appropriate challenge and ambition to meet current and future business needs. Assistance in delivery and communication of the strategy and priorities to all employees.
Drive and track the Lime SHE improvement plan, aligned to the business SHE strategy and local SHE committees.
Active management of the internal SHE Management Systems to establish policies, objectives & targets, procedures & processes and ensure these are executed in line with the requirements of ISO
Maintain links and contribute to internal and external best practice forums.
Invest in own training (formal and informal) to stay abreast of current legislation and thinking.
Interaction and support for management team to understand business priorities and to report on and challenge SHE performance.
Support the formation and management of the annual SHE training plan to develop monthly toolbox talks and the annual training days
Analyse trends in near miss/incident reporting to challenge areas of focus and future SHE strategy. Drive excellence in near miss and incident reporting in terms of frequency and quality. Coach the management team in incident investigation and root cause.
Engage in 1 to 1 or group discussion with the workforce to confirm understanding and compliance as well as identifying gaps and opportunities. Use a coaching approach to impact behavioural safety.
Development of strong working relationships relevant with regulating bodies
Management of the Health & Safety Co-ordinator and designating duties of the role
Prepare the internal business audit plans and lead this process ensuring the relevant people are prepared.
Work with the Technical Manager and support in the quality and environmental policies/obligations of the company.
Reporting of various business SHE data monthly, quarterly and annually. Identify and propose improvements to improve efficiency and minimise bureaucracy.
Applying Health & Safety Industry Best Practices
· A SHE strategy which addresses business needs and aligns to SigmaRoc strategies
· Demonstrable link between improvement plan, strategy and SHE performance Completion of the SHE improvement plan
· Legislative Compliance and Maintenance of certification to applicable ISO ISO std’s
· Reception & cascade SHE information/incidents. Actions and improvement plans linked to best practice learning
· Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
· Business compliance with SHE procedures/processes. Early management of upcoming areas of risk or opportunity
· Increased awareness and understanding of SHE topics within the workforce. Statutory training up to date.
· Near miss categories/types show a strong relationship with incidents and areas of focus. Timely incident investigations and action close out.
· VFL time bound sessions with the workforce and increased levels of compliance and engagement
· Robust and regular dialogue to drive increased knowledge, openness and transparency
· Early management of upcoming areas of risk or opportunity and setting of performance targets.
· Low level on NCRs (zero major NCRs)
· Compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 50001 Accreditations.
· Reporting timescales and accuracy requirements met.
· Drive Clogrennane Lime to best in industry standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS
· Education to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
· NEBOSH Diploma (Ideally)
· IOSH Leadership and Management Certificates
EXPERIENCE
- Experience of stakeholder interactions eg regulators, local community, workforce etc.
- Experience in a similar role at supervisory/management level in a process plant environment.
