Help us make a difference as a Shift Electrical Technician based from our Operational site in Edmonton.
The hours of work are 4 days on 4 days off, 2 days 2 nights, 12 hr shifts.
£52,200 per annum

OUR ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS.

  • NVQ Level 3 or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering; qualified in 16th, 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671); strong knowledge of electrical maintenance; computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office and email systems.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks effectively; strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills; able to manage routine and scheduled activities with consistency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; committed to working effectively within a team and sharing technical knowledge where required.
  • Strong personal commitment to health and safety; proactive approach to learning new skills and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

A QUICK LOOK AT THE ROLE:

As an Electrical Technician, you’ll be part of a skilled maintenance team working alongside other Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to keep our plant running safely and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance, with a strong focus on reducing operational downtime. Health and safety will be at the heart of everything you do, and you’ll play a key role in ensuring all work meets required standards. You’ll take direction from the Engineering Supervisor and respond to the site’s operational engineering needs with professionalism and urgency.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Supporting the Engineering Supervisor in the development of other team members skills and abilities.
  • Maintaining the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices.
  • Complying fully with all safety instructions, policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Supervising a team of contractors where necessary to ensure work carried out is to the required standard.
  • Carrying out problem solving activities on the plant and machinery to identify faults and rectify them.
  • Carrying out maintenance, both preventative and breakdown on all equipment at site to reduce operational downtime.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis activities (RCA) to identify the cause of failures and actions to prevent future failures increasing plant up time.
