Company Description IPS – The UK’s Market Leading Co-Packer, working with some of the best known food brands to provide cost-effective and innovative co-packing, co-filling and co-manufacturing solutions. Our comprehensive range of contract packing services have been developed and tailored in response to the requirements of our clients. Our Crick (NN6 7GZ) site are now recruiting for a Shift Engineer on a full time basis. Shift: Monday-Friday 06:00am-14:00pm and 14:00pm-22:00pm on a weekly rotation. Salary: £42,000 per annum - £47,500 per annum. Job Description To ensure the smooth day to day running of the technical function and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to. The post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on own initiative. Must also be able to communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department. Must be able to make own decisions and liaise with other department colleagues and/or departments. Assisting the Production team where possible. Providing engineering solutions and assist in an operational capacity. Monitoring all machines and ancillary plant. Follow preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules. Repairs during production. Planned maintenance. Inspection outside production hours some weekend overtime working will be required to suit the business needs. To carry out scheduled work to restore machines and site back to standard. To carry out change overs when required. Look for opportunities to continuously improve machine performance. To assist in colleague training and development when required. To ensure that good work practices and housekeeping are adhered to. Drive own personal development through training and work-based experience. To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post. Qualifications Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageous. Fully complete apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience. Basic computer literacy. Able to communicate and motivate others is an essential part of the role. Understanding of internal systems and processes, with the ability to work within these parameters. An understanding of health and safety requirements is essential. Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines.
