ON OFFER:

  • £20.87 per hour (£46,882 per annum)
  • 43.2 hours per week (Days - Monday - Thursday - 07:00 - 16:00 & Friday - 07:00 - 14:20)
  • Hourly rate with overtime
  • Paid monthly

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in same or similar role
  • Qualified or time served in Mechanical engineering discipline
  • Develop and execute preventive and reactive maintenance plans for pumps, valves, and associated systems consistent with operational requirements and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialised tasks and oversee permits-to-work where needed.
  • Experienced in the use and operation of CMMS
  • Reliability Management expertise (such as FMECA, RCM, Tribology, CBM, TPM)
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level - desirable
  • Legionella and HACCP awareness - desirable
  • Experienced in PLC (desirable)

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team, this role will be based in our Thirsk manufacturing plant, working specifically with Tank Farm and our Fresh Ingredients Kitchen.

THE ROLE OF MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

To establish and maintain safe, compliant and effective engineering operations that continually develop the site’s asset base by following the Engineering strategy for proactive work whilst responding to breakdowns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform planned and predictive maintenance of equipment and complete ad hoc repairs in a timely manner and by prioritising works in line with site priorities to ensure that efficient production is maintained
  • Assessing the need for spares by ensuring that the critical spares and spares list is up to date and stock is at the required levels and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance activities with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment. Champion safety
  • Using route cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent re-occurrence
  • Support the energy reduction and sustainability agenda to reduce environmental impacts across the site by ensuring all actions are completed
  • Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive the improvement throughout the site.
