Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to engineering departmental growth, they are looking for an electrical biased shift engineer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be an electrical biased engineer
  • Be comfortable with working on mechanical or electrical problems / faults
  • Have a positive approach and attitude, an understanding that the site is going through a redevelopment stage, want people to come on board for the journey
  • Confident and able to work on own initiative, sometime unsupervised
  • Strong communicator, analytical, self-motivated with a can do, get stuck in attitude
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a maintenance engineering position
  • Time-served apprenticeship
  • Hold electrical qualifications, NVQ Level 3 or higher
  • Must have worked in a fast-paced production environment - FMCG, food, packaging, automation
  • Experience of working with PLC’s, motors, drives, automation systems
  • Previously have worked in a strongly preventative maintenance environment
Responsibilities
  • Electrical & mechanical maintenance, PPM’s, and repairs
  • Working on a variety of high-speed production & packaging machinery, conveyors, automation & controls, plant machinery and robotics
  • Part of a close knit team that is growing & developing
  • An exciting challenge for someone that is looking to help develop the existing engineering function
  • Dealing with motors, drives, PLC’s, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, gearboxes
  • Project work - new machine installs, upgrades & continuous improvement work
  • Assisting with developing new PPM’s, helping with the new asset care management systems
