SHIFT GENERAL OPERATIVE

The General Operative plays a crucial role within the manufacturing team, handling the operation of presses, drilling machines, and various assembly equipment. Additionally, they support key functions in packaging, logistics, and inventory management, ensuring efficient production and seamless workflow across departments.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Upbeat, ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Organised.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Operate factory presses, consistently following best practices and safety protocols.
• Prepare and load goods for dispatch in accordance with company procedures and business requirements.
• Work across all areas of the factory, including SMC, drilling machines, stores, and assembly operations.
• Support forklift operations where licensed to do so.
• Pack materials for internal movement, storage, and outbound dispatch.
• Accurately label goods for identification and tracking.
• Assist the goods-inwards team with picking, packing, and labelling items for the daily manifest.
• Organise and store stock efficiently and participate in monthly stocktaking activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and order across the factory floor, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Take responsibility for personal and team safety on site, promptly reporting any hazards or concerns to management.
• Ensure product and process quality standards are upheld.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team to support operational needs.
