JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a shift Lead at Coffee Commissary Fairfax, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the barista team, ensuring that all beverages are prepared to perfection, and maintaining a welcoming environment for both customers and staff. This role is ideal for someone with a deep knowledge of specialty coffee, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of specialty coffee.
  • Previous leadership experience in a café or coffee shop is preferred.
  • Passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the barista team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, ensuring each drink meets Coffee Commissary’s quality standards.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment to ensure the highest quality in every cup.
  • Train new baristas and provide ongoing coaching to improve skills and knowledge across the team.
  • Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure the café runs smoothly.
  • Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and a focus on enhancing the customer experience.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned according to company standards.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining an inviting atmosphere in the café, including the setup and presentation of the coffee bar.
  • Collaborate with the management team on menu development, promotions, and other initiatives to drive customer satisfaction and sales.
  • Oversee the opening and closing procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
