We are recruiting a Shift Leader to join us in delivering the best subs and guest experience in the industry! Location: 80 Hogan Court, Bedford, Nova Scotia Firehouse Subs is a brand founded by two firefighters in 1994, and now has over 1,200 locations in the US and Canada. Our sandwiches are unique because we slice our meats fresh in-house daily, and our steaming process awakens the flavours of our premium meats and cheeses. With generous portions and craveable combinations, our subs are like nothing you've tasted before! Shift Leaders are responsible for supporting the Restaurant General Manager overseeing a team in all aspects of restaurant operations. They will lead, mentor, and support the restaurant team and consistently motivate the team to achieve the highest standard of customer service and ensure efficiency in all aspects of the business. They are a hospitality professional that leads with a guest-centric mentality. This position will help lead our Team Members on the front lines of our operations, adhering to and enforcing our standards, and ensuring that our guests are presented with a great experience. This position will report to the Restaurant General Manager Core Responsibilities: • Provide leadership to the restaurant team to consistently meet standards of superior guest service, quality and cleanliness while embracing the Firehouse Subs® “culture” of a cheerful and fun work environment and Firehouse Subs® beliefs and values to adhere to and grow the mission and vision. • Support the RGM with inventory management and food cost management. Ensure FIFO is being used, ensure food is stored neatly and correctly. • Assign daily tasks to team members, ensuring daily prep is completed in a timely manner and ensuring the restaurant is setup for success every single day. • Measure and evaluate performance standards (KPI’s) • Implement plans for continuous service improvement. • Ensure operational and occupational health and safety standards are followed. • Handle guest problems and complaints in an efficient and positive manner. • Coordinate and implement current operations game plans and company initiatives in a profitable and timely manner. • Promote all Public Safety Foundation initiatives. • Communicate effectively to Leadership of any and all issues that may impact our business. • Maintain restaurant equipment in full working order and communicates problems immediately. • Maintain cleaning routines and overall restaurant cleanliness. Qualifications And Skills: • 1+ years in a supervisory role in a restaurant environment • Possess a positive attitude, be ready and willing to manage their team and serve customers, every day with a smile. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Leadership skills – able to direct, coach, and supervise a team • A positive and team-oriented attitude. • You must be able to perform efficiently during high volume peak periods. • Must be able to work flexible hours: day, evening, weekends and holidays. • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
