Description

Role Purpose: To ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the power plant during the assigned shift, while adhering to statutory requirements, organizational SOPs, and sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities: Shift Operations Management Oversee all operational activities of boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems during the shift. Ensure compliance with operational parameters and safety standards. Team Leadership & Coordination Supervise shift operators and technicians, allocate tasks, and monitor performance. Conduct shift briefings and maintain effective communication across teams. Safety & Compliance Implement and enforce safety protocols, statutory norms, and environmental regulations. Conduct routine safety checks and report deviations immediately. Monitoring & Reporting Record operational data, log sheets, and shift reports accurately. Report abnormalities, breakdowns, and initiate corrective actions promptly. Maintenance Coordination Liaise with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance during shift. Ensure minimum downtime and optimal equipment performance. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and cost optimization. Support implementation of energy conservation and sustainability initiatives. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 5–8 years of experience in power plant operations (preferably in [type of plant: thermal, gas, biomass, etc.]). Knowledge of DCS systems, safety standards, and statutory compliance. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Technical expertise in power plant operations. Problem-solving and crisis management ability. Good communication and documentation skills.

The Shift Leader Process is responsible for overseeing all operational activities of the power plant during their shift, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational parameters. They also supervise shift operators and technicians, conduct briefings, and implement safety protocols.
