Description JOB SUMMARY: Perform equipment and systems maintenance, repair, or replacement tasks necessary to maintain and maximize productivity for production department. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on designated equipment. Perform unscheduled maintenance activities necessary to return non-operational equipment to operational status. Work with Maintenance Manager, Production Supervisors and management personnel to trouble-shoot production and maintenance problems. Package and prepare equipment for shipment to vendors. Participate in team activities designed to improve quality and or safety. Maintain and repair maintenance shop equipment. Assist Production Supervisor in coordinating necessary maintenance activities with production requirements. Ventilation equipment troubleshooting and repairs including fans, bag houses and line vents. Die changes as required for each production line. Conveyor belt troubleshooting and repairs. Troubleshoot and replace heaters and thermocouples as necessary. Fuses, motor and starter replacements. Replace small DC and AC drives. All 120-volt repairs. Motor troubleshooting-Not including major DC or AC drive trouble shooting beyond fuses. Any lighting repairs and replacements. Troubleshoot Pierrets and robot. Gravimetric feeders, scale checks, calibrations, rate checks, large feeder screw and tube changes. Plant air, water, wastewater system, fire system operation, troubleshooting and understanding valving. Ability to operate man lift and forklift when needed. Knowledgeable to mechanically run all machines in plant. Replace screens and blades on grinders. Troubleshoot all material conveying equipment, blowers, motors, valves, conveying lines etc. Change and build screws. Oil filters, air filters, water filters, oil changes, greasing equipment. Basic PM Requirements for all machines. Replace belts and chain drives on any equipment. Troubleshoot and replace rope feeders at Line 8 Rebuilding of pelletizers-changing blades, rotors, feed rollers, bed knife replacement and adjustments. Basic troubleshooting of hydraulics and pneumatics. Basic troubleshooting of variable displacement pressure compensated hydraulic systems. Assist in installing and/or removing of equipment. Emergency basic welding. Appropriate use of hand and power tools and electrical test equipment. Thread identification. Coupling alignments. All other duties as assigned by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience or training in maintenance-related activity. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABLILITIES: Attention to understand, discuss and evaluate equipment performance. Communication abilities and good interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
