ABOUT THE ROLE

At DS Smith, employee safety and quality manufacturing are cornerstones of our identity. By joining us as a member of our Production teams, you’re becoming part of a skilled team that manages the smooth running of the intricate processes involved in turning raw materials into high-quality packaging solutions. With a relentless commitment to safety, efficiency, and product integrity, our Production teams lead their operations with precision and expertise, managing the challenges that come with running a large manufacturing business and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Are you an experienced Shift Manager with a strong focus on safety and a knack for leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our site operations team. Our core business values revolve around safety and robust risk assessments, ensuring a secure and efficient workplace for everyone. Therefore, this is a critical role where you will be instrumental in managing production shifts, ensuring operational excellence, and upholding our high safety standards.
The successful candidate would be leading, motivating, and developing their shift team to achieve production targets and maintain a positive work environment whilst championing our safety culture, conducting, and support writing and implementing risk assessments, and ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety protocols. You will utilise your engineering experience to manage and coordinate external contractors on site, as well as optimising production processes to drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and problem-solving on your shift.
This is a fantastic role in one of most engaged sites, and therefore you will be interacting with a variety of stakeholders including planners, the customer service team site leadership to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
If you’re a results-oriented leader with a passion for safety and a background in engineering within manufacturing, we encourage you to apply. Join our team and contribute to our success!
