An exciting opportunity to join out Drinks factory based in Basingstoke, North Hampshire.
This role is a Shift role which does include night shifts. Hours are on a generous time off rota system. The hours of work would be 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am. The successful candidate must be able to do both shifts.
Salary - £36-40,000 plus annual bonus (profit and performance dependent) plus £3,500 shift allowance. Very generous benefits package.
Overview -
Reporting to an Area Manager, the Shift Production Lead has two distinct roles.
· Operational leadership role with responsibility for leading manufacturing operations on a shift, including people leadership of a team of Associates and contractors, to ensure the delivery of the production schedule for both Klix and Single Serve brands in accordance with required quality, hygiene, and safety standards.
· Effective communication of daily production targets, resolution of problems that may affect the team’s ability to achieve agreed targets and timely escalation to the Area Manager as required.
Key Responsibilities include :
· Complete content of the Lead Operator role.
· On shift, the Shift Production Lead will have Duty Manager responsibility. This will be ensuring site security, the safety of others, and adhering to emergency operating procedures.
· The total ownership of shift performance through agreed governance with an improvement plan in conjunction with the Area Manager is equal.
· Monitor and adhere to standards. Such as, dress standards, breaks, timekeeping and shift handovers.
· Ensuring all breaches are resolved within a timely manner and effective communication is always maintained with the Area Manager
· Run start up meeting to ensure goals and targets are clear, including additional tasks (5S, area ownership, GMP etc)
· Proactively plan and organize the shift by ensuring all materials are available and prepared to prevent unnecessary downtime.
· Ensure effective implementation of planned interruptions under the guidance and coordination of the Area Manager and that normal operation is conducted as quickly as possible.
· Responsibility for effective investigation of the team’s escalations to enable a resolution to be identified and resolved.
· All concerns that will impact performance must be shared with key stakeholders to ensure the plan can be modified accordingly.
· Identifying your team’s training and development, including any specialist areas.
· Ownership of personal development and training needs.
This role operates under the direction of the Area Manager
· Quality issue resolution (in conjunction with Area Manager)
· Allocation of roles within your team’s area.
· Setting of the teams daily plans (Changeovers, Meetings)
· Communication of daily production issues (Schedule Changes, Rework)
Education and Qualifications:
Good educational standard with clear ability to understand and adhere to Standard operating procedures within a factory environment
Ability to apply knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment
High degree of numeracy and literacy
Excellent command of English required
