  SHIFT STAFFED HOMES - Direct Support Worker (Part-time)   New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster the hopes and dreams of people and their communities.   Shift Staffed Homes (SSH) is one of the many services within Adult Services at New Directions; providing person-centered support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who may experience complex health issues. SSH strives to promote a sense of belonging and provide opportunities to engage in a meaningful life. This is achieved by creating a home environment that welcomes the participation of adults, supporting their pursuits, interests, goals, and helping maintain and strengthen the bond between the adults and their significant others.  We provide an environment that is non-judgmental, safe and caring. Shift Staffed Homes operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   Position details are as follows: Grouping: Purple     Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday (16 hours/week) OFF OFF OFF OFF OFF 3pm-11pm 3pm-11pm   Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): * Working as part of a team providing care, support and guidance to individuals in their homes and in the community * Administering medication, * Providing transportation, and * Performing household chores  * New Directions is dedicated to the ongoing learning and development of our employees.  You will be expected to engage in the orientation and training opportunities provided to you on your employment journey   Qualifications: * Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent * Valid Class 5 Driver’s License * 2 or more years of direct support work experience is considered an asset * First Aid/CPR training considered an asset * Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (NCI) considered an asset * American Sign Language (ASL) is considered an asset   The salary range for this Part-time Regular 32-hour bi-weekly position is $17.3239 to $23.3888 per hour, dependent upon education and/or experience.  Anticipated start date for this position is July 11th, 2026.     The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child/Adult Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact checks; and must supply a current Driver's Safety Rating.   This position is a part of the UFCW Local 832 Union Collective Agreement   The closing date for all applications June 25th, 2026     We thank all applicants for their interest in New Directions, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
