POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Back of House Shift Supervisor performs all duties of Food and Beverage Team Members. BOH Shift Supervisor will direct and oversee the daily activities of assigned team members. They also train, develop, motivate and coach assigned team members. This position assists the Food and Beverage Managers in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of their area in both guest view and back areas while providing an excellent guest experience.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or degree in related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties of the BOH Team Members.
  • Empower and train staff to resolve minor issues and provide solutions independently.
  • Manage customer queues, lines, and flow to minimize wait times.
  • Supervise the operation of the staff members. Making sure staff members are taking breaks on time and according to break schedules.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and workstations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
  • Monitor portions, production, and preparation.
  • Ensure and maintain a strong knowledge of menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods and special items.
  • Aid and support staff members during busy periods or with complex transactions.
  • Ensure staff members follow health and safety regulations, service laws, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Train staff on policies and procedures.
  • Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety.
  • Continually train team members in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Communicate food and beverage needs with the food and beverage managers and the manager on duty to ensure smooth operations.
  • Share feedback on staff performance with the food and beverage manager.
  • Submit detailed end of shift recaps to the food and beverage manager.
  • Contribute to regular meetings to share information, address team concerns, and discuss updates.
  • Other duties as requested by manager.
