SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Safely and efficiently manages monitors and operates production processes and associated equipment from central control room. Leads shift crew members by providing direction and instructions and ensuring critical tasks are accomplished, product quality is maintained, environmental requirements are met, and plant management directions are followed.

REQUIREMENTS:

· An engineering or process technology degree is preferred; other degrees with experience may be substituted.
· At least two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
· Experience working with DCS programing in a chemical manufacturing environment is a plus.
· Willing to work a 12 hour rotating shift, including days/nights, holidays, and weekends.
· Experience working in union shop is helpful.
· Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
· This position requires the ability to set priorities, manage time, and to delegate effectively.

Responsibilities

· Leads and directs shift crew daily operations activities coordinating personnel in the field as required for equipment and process start up, operation, adjustment, maintenance, shutdown while ensuring Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements are met.
· Monitors process equipment and systems ensuring compliance to standard operating conditions and established operation practices.
· Maintains and submits production related reports, documents, and logs as required (including environmental releases, environmental process control points, injury report, shift logs, and more).
· Monitors product quality, ensures quality related inspections and product sampling are performed as required and makes process adjustments as required to maintain product quality.
· Supervises plant operations to maximize efficiency, guarantee high product quality, and identify opportunities for improvements.
· Manages SAP activities related to manufacturing process as assigned, enters process data into SAP system, and ensures accuracy of information and data input.
· Leads daily and monthly safe training and tailgate meetings / take two, procedures, JSA reviews for shift crew
· Demonstrates a strong commitment to organizational success
· Demonstrates problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills & can handle multiple tasks under time constraints
