Description
The Old Colony YMCA Brockton Boy's Detention Program is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our residential detention Program. Under the supervision of the Shift Administrator, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and coordination of activities during their assigned shift. This role ensures strict adherence to program policies and procedures by the Youth Care Advocate staff and provides direct supervision and support to these team members. The Shift Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a safe, healthy, secure, and clean environment for all youth, ensuring that each individual is treated with respect and dignity to promote their self-worth and personal development. Additionally, the Shift Supervisor is expected to lead by example and demonstrate strong leadership, crisis management skills, and a trauma-informed approach to working with at-risk youth, consistently upholding and demonstrating the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.     Qualifications * Supervise direct care staff during assigned shifts. * Ensure facility operations are in compliance with all OCY, DYS and EEC policies, procedures, and state licensing requirements. * Oversee safety and security protocols, including headcounts, incident reporting, and emergency procedures. * Serve as the on-site leader during the shift, making real-time decisions and providing crisis intervention as needed. * Monitor staff performance and provide guidance, coaching, and accountability. * Facilitate shift change communication, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-through on critical matters. * Support the implementation of behavior management plans.  * Conduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure a safe, clean, and structured environment. * Collaborate with clinical, educational, and administrative teams to support youth progress and program goals. * High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a residential, juvenile justice, or similar youth care setting. * At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. * Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and behavioral interventions. * Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure. * Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills. * Complete CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and all other OCY, DYS and EEC training requirements.
