We are currently recruiting for the position of Shift Supervisor.

THE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE SHIFT SUPERVISOR ARE OUTLINED BELOW:

  • 1-3 years supervisory/management experience in a materials and logistics environment.
  • Intimate knowledge of Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse, Inventory and Material Handling operations, methods and practices.
  • Leadership; previously demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Strong computer skills related to the use of Microsoft Office products, Warehouse and Inventory Management systems and Productivity Tracking Software.
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral) along with a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to operate and train associates on all equipment associated within a warehousing environment (forklift, deep reach, walkie, RF scanner).
Responsibilities
  • Administers training and certification processes to ensure that all associates are capable of operating material handling equipment (MHE) in a safe and productive manner.
  • Assists the Area Manager in the completion of periodic performance reviews.
  • Provides continual feedback on both positive and negative performance through the use of informal discussions; recommends formal progressive disciplinary action to Area Manager.
  • Responsible to prioritize workload assignments and communicate priorities throughout the shift; works closely with the Team Leader and associates to correct errors and resolve day-to-day process problems.
  • Provides leadership on the shift and fosters positive employee relations through effective communication.
  • Ensures any maintenance or repair issues for the building facilities, vehicles and equipment area addressed and communicated to the Shift Manager.
  • Actively pursues feedback from associates to identify and resolve process or procedural issues to improve productivity and expedite workflow within the shift.
  • Examine and monitor Warehouse associates work for exactness, neatness and conformance to quality and productivity standards, common practice and procedures; provides mentoring, coaching, and suggests training in the cultivation and development of associates and team leaders.
  • Exemplifies safe work behaviors and champions safe work practices with all associates.
  • Participates in special projects and assignments as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
